Dark Sun: The Tyrant of Tyr
Vanguard shoot a volley towards the fleeing thri-kreen and the creature falls
Jekall recalls the memory of the Kreen he dominated climbs up into the building where they stand and attacks the Kreen leader with a powerful mind attack but still it lives
The Half-giant stood on the Kreen leader falters as the Kreen lashes out once more taking his legs from under him and leaping up ready to finish him off as he lies on the floor bleeding to death
Eben cleaves the Kreen with a mighty blow which knocks the creature off the side of the building. Then, a faint sound can be heard as if of a low weak laughter. Seconds later there is a great explosion and the part of the building upon which Eben and the two Half-Giants lay bleeding crumbles takin them with it. Eben and one of the Half-giants manage to ride the debris on the way down remaining relatively unscathed, but one of the Half-Giants and the remains of the ‘Kreen leader are buried
The group frantically move away the stone to reveal the dying Half-Giant so that he can be stabilised whilst the Vanguard pick up the bodies of the other ’Kreen so that no evidence of their battle would be seen the next day
Eben and Orsk retire to rest with the free
Solzak and Jekall head out on ’errands’
Solzak follows Jekall through warrens, the black mist clings uncomfortably to their feet.
They approach sand street and head east. Close to the end they see a group of cloaked figures they suspect to be toothcutters silhouetted by the twin moons above. Solzak abd Jekall fall in line and casually follow carrful that they bot syspect them. Their trail leads to the elven river, across which lies the noble quarter, safely away from the slums of the warrens. At one of the entrances to the noble quater that they can see a large group of soldiers and city guard stand, torches in hand and weapons ready. The number is much greater than they had ever previously seen. The figures ahead of them stop, and spying the soldiers ahead change direction and go north, following the path of the dry river as it slips underground
The pair decide to follow a different path and head south towards the caravan district. As they pass some of the abandoned buildings close to Iron Square they notice one in particular which seems to have strange lights, little more than candlelight, inside the windows on the second floor. Finding it strange but with other plans they continue, passing by
As they make their way through the alleyways of Caravan way they spot several strong squads of soldiers patrolling the street. Even the alleys are not safe tonight as Solzak guides Jekall carefully through only the most darkest and narrowest alleys that only the truly brave or foolhardy dared go. Caravan way was extremely well lit however and they needsd to get to the other side without being seen so instead they opted to look for an under tyr entrance.
Locating a member of Tyr’s eyes was reasonably easy but the nervousness was obvious from his voice as he spoke that most had ‘gone to ground’ this night in anticipation of what could happen in the warrens the next night.
Nervously the ‘eye’ member took them down another back alley to a small basement hidden from view, there he offered the way in but would go no further. Jekall and Solzak appreciated his help and made their way down. After their eyes adjusted to the darkness they set about finding their way cautiously through the dark. They made good progress and had come half way across caravan way when they noticed the cavern ahead was not empty and there were some quiet noises of shuffling and foraging. Drawing ever closer to take a look they saw before them a small group of 6 Baazrags! They were large too, unusually a group of egg-laying females all in one place, defending naturally, a clutch of eggs. Solzak had an idea however and carefully sneaking until mid-way into the room. Solzak then uttering quiet words beneath his breath pointed over to the corner of the room, where close to the Baazrag eggs was a sneaking halfling! Jekall smiled as he knew what was going on. The Baazrags whirled in surprise as they noticed the approaching humanoid and squealed as they rushed to turn around just as the halfling reached the eggs. The Baazrags charged while Solzak and Jekall ran and in their distraction did not notice the two until they were out of sight and their attacks against the illusion only served to confuse and anger them further.
Relieved the pair finally made it out of under-tyr where they reached the elven river which separates caravan way from the southern noble district. Spotting several patrols they pick their way through the streets, at one point passing by Narissa’s old shop where Solzak was reminded of the letter he sent and the hope that all was okay.
Eventually the pair reach the Atrius manor, at which point Solzak asks why they are here. Jekall replies that he has business to attend to and they enter.
Inside they meet a servant who goes to fetch the lady E’la whom Solzak had seen earlier at the Elven Market. Crashing and slamming of doors came from the upper floor where the lady was said to be sleeping. She came down the stairs and promptly berated the pair for the lateness of the visit
Jekall enquired about her experience with Ktandeo and the girl who is named ‘’. It turns out she is from Raam (Where Atrius hailed from) and has come seeking her sister and father, who had been gone for many weeks. What was potentially more interesting to E’la however was her ability as a Psion and therefore potential. Ktandeo, the old man who escorted her to the Drunken Giant, seemed to be very interested too in what the girl said about the Silt Cult and what they had previously attempted in Raam. The crystals it seemed were linked and could be controlled potentially creating an army which would be powerless to resist. E’la requests that Jekall return the next evening so that they might study the crystals together and learn if they can be tapped
While they are talking Solzak slips off to another room to ‘admire’ the house. Searching through the dining room and finding little of value he continues into the kitchen where a slave enquires why he is there. Skillfully dodging questions he continues up the stairs
