Dark Sun: The Tyrant of Tyr
The trap was set. Jekall controlled the movements of the Dune Reapers whilst Frost initiated the Silence rituals to guard their entrance. Yakala assisted to block one of the corridors as the Brohg, directed by Kagero and Tybia, took watch
Frost then summoned his spirit inix to dig down into the chamber of the Dune Reaper matron
The brohg fed ropes to allow a quick descent
Unfortunately as it climbed down the inix slipped on the cavern walls and fell into the chamber with enough of a disturbance and movement that the matron was alerted to the presence. She screamed a warning, charging into attack before slicing the spirit in half, dismissing it instantly!
The drones rushed forward to defend their queen as Orsk leaped down swinging over their heads and facing down the matron. Drawing one of the Gith blades and tensing his muscles he motioned her forward
Solzak took point in the chamber above to fire on the drones, attempting to help clear a path for the others
Jekall then saw as the Reaper queen moved a stone on the ground. It had a greenish hue and was porous in texture, but shimmered as if it contained some kind of bluish crystal gemstones locked within. He stated out loud as if talking to himself – that is the source of the pulse!
Eben slid down the ropes to join them, whirling his axe at the Drones who screeched and postured
The brohgs assisted as much as they could in the tight space but there was little they could do. The assassins on the other hand slid down the rope and immediately threw themselves into battle, almost joyfully carving into the Dune reaper drones with their wrist razors as the insects let out inaudible cries
Orsk swung at the queen and connected with a satisfying crunch of her chitin armour. As soon as he did so though the queen disappeared! The sword had worked and so he quickly ran over to the stone to pick it up. Lifting it with one hand he suddenly stooped and had to grip it more carefully as it almost slipped from his grasp. It is inexplicably heavy for such a small object and made of a material the like of which he has never seen.
