Session 82

Left monastery and met with Gilam and the Eladrin windwalkers
The blind monks discovered the truth about the deaths of their kin and were overcome with beseek rage. Orsk intervened and managed to calm the situation. The muls, upset and devastates appear lost and confused. They desire peace from war but do not understand the concept. The group vow to help them achieve this after one last battle
Returned to Eladrin palace and gained Alaric as an ally for attack on mines, they will commit two small but elite forces to the attack. They were not specific as to when they would arrive but it would be nearer the time. There a lavish feast was put on for the heroes who liberated Celarine
There was a strange man waiting for Jekall, dressed in red robes with real gold lining. He was bald aside from a small perfectly sculpted goatee beard. He spoke slowly but aggressively and his name was Phariste. Those that were hostile toward him were knocked back by tremendous psychic force. Jekall was taken aside by him for a few minutes away from the others. Alaric reassured them that he would be ok but there was some strain in his voice
Jekall came back slightly shaken and Phariste was gone, as the atmosphere calmed they returned to their food and relaxed for the evening
The next day they met for breakfast and Jekall looked ‘different’. His skin was smooth and slightly transluscent, as if glowing from the inside with many lights and all the imperfections from his body seemed to have disappeared like he had become a perfect vision of himself. They surmised this was something between him and phariste, slightly unnerved but realising whatever it was with phariste that this did not come easily. Jekall looked phased enough by the experience anyway. Alaric entered and had much the same reaction but chose to say nothing, perhaps having experienced such an occorence previously
Over another hearty breakfast Alaric detailed that to get to the echoeless caverns it would be possible to travel via pockets of the land within the wind which would make the journey faster. Time would still pass but the distance travelled greater.
Jekall would be tought the crossing ritual by Gilam, as although Jekall is onlh a half-blood he has nonetheless proven his worth to Alaric
Assembling at the stones on the other side of celarine the windwalkers enact a ritual of protection from attack by the windwalker mirages. Frost analyses their movements in an attempt to discover it for himself. He believes that it will be possible to learn. The ritual takes an hour during which time the last rites of the wayfinding ritual are taught to Jekall
Within moments of the ritual’s completion the world around them seems to swirl and warp until it looks nothing like where they were and near darkness descends. The darkness receeds and they find themselves in a forest of twisted and defiled trees. A low mist hugs the ground up to their waists, obscuring vision. Ahead in the distance a great peak shoots out from the cloud hanging around its neck. On top of the mountain a light can be seen, and with no other explanation they can but guess this will be where the next waystone is
To their left and the west the tops of trees can be seen as far as their eyes can stretch, a lush green canopy the like of which they can barely imagine. To their right and the east, mountains and canyon valleys heading to Tyr and further still to the endless sands
In distance hear sound of a sorrowful song
Then hear sounds of battle in what appears to be a village on stilts up ahead
They move forward cautiously and notice flitting shadows in the fog. Jekall attempts to use the sending stone to Alaric but is unable to pierce this unnatural fog
